Wallasey to West Kirby Coastal Walk (19 km)

The Wirral has one of the longest urban coastal walks in the country — a near-continuous strip of promenade and beach from New Brighton to West Kirby. I walked it as a linear 19 km day: start in Wallasey, finish at the marine lake, train back. Flat, exposed, and longer than it looks on a map.

- Start: Wallasey / New Brighton promenade
- End: West Kirby Marine Lake
- Distance: About 19 km (11½ miles)
- Terrain: Paved promenade, sea walls, and sandy beach — almost entirely flat; some sections on the sand at low tide
Keep the water on your left and the houses on your right and you cannot go wrong. The tide matters if you drop onto the sand — check times before walking the beach, as the water goes out a long way and the surface can be soft.
