Liverpool Docks Run (3.6 km)

This near-flat 3.6 km loop runs through Liverpool’s docklands — past Pier Head, around the Albert Dock basins, and back along the Mersey. It is one of the easiest places in the city to run without fighting traffic. I have done it in snow, mist, and golden-hour light.

- Start: Pier Head / Albert Dock waterfront
- End: Pier Head / Albert Dock (circular)
- Distance: About 3.6 km (2.2 miles)
- Terrain: Paved promenade and cobbled quays — almost entirely flat; watch your footing on the older cobbles when they are wet
You are never far from a landmark, so it is easy to know where you are. Paths are shared with cyclists and walkers, busiest near the museums. Cobbles can be slippery after rain or frost.
